What’s the Difference?
Lack of motivation vs. self-sabotage: It’s hard to tell them apart sometimes.
Then there are the moments you realize you’re sabotaging yourself, but it’s still hard to get motivated enough to do anything about it. So you mentally beat yourself up for not accomplishing the goal, or the one after, or any of them really.
Which doesn’t help in the least. It kinda makes you depressed, actually. Which is unmotivating and sabotaging, thereby completing the circle of not getting a damned thing done.
Oh, no, don’t get the wrong idea; we’re not talking about me here. Not at all. I’m not like this perfect description of the up-down cycle of arrested development featured in Hyperbole and a Half.
Not a whit.
” … surfing the internet like an attention-deficient squirrel on PCP.”
Indeed. Who has time for that?
*sigh*
