One for the Skeptics.

I made this in answer to a graphic that is similar in concept, but much more religiously-themed. I lay no claim to the original, nor is any copyright infringement intended.

On the other hand …

… and who’s been better at advertising for the last few thousand years than religion?

The greatest story ever sold.

Stocky Women.

Sometimes stock photography makes me smile at its ridiculousness. For instance:

Women Laughing Alone with Salads

Or how about:

Women Smiling with Small Pastel Weights

But I discovered the pinnacle of ludicrousness tonight and it has made me laugh the hardest of all. Ladies and gents, behold:

Women Struggling to Drink Water

Blatant metaphor? Soft core porn? Sex-y or sex-ist?

Who cares, as long as it sells … whatever it is they’re selling.

What could it be? Bottled water? A healthy lifestyle? Gym wear? Camping showers?

Maybe straws? Cuz they’re are totally drinking that water wrong …

Silly girls.

Get Off the Fence.

For anyone who is unclear on President Obama’s accomplishments since he took office, here’s a detailed list, including citations.

For anyone who is mad at President Obama for not doing what he said he would do, here’s Bill Maher.

For anyone who thinks Obama is a “tax and spend liberal,” here’s a chart from the Office of Management and Budget, the Congressional Budget Office, Haver Analytics, and Marketwatch.

For anyone who believes current conservative economic policy is capable of balancing the budget, here’s former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich – who has written most of his 13 books on the topic – on Romney’s fiscal plans.

[Romney] … would restore the military budget, slash Medicare (turning it into vouchers that shift costs to the elderly) and Medicaid (turning it over to the states but without enough money to keep it going), cut programs for the poor (food stamps, Pell grants, etc), and yet at the same time cut even more taxes on the super rich … Romney’s plan would also — according to the non-partisan Center for Budget and Policy Priorities — increase the federal budget deficit by more than $3 trillion over the next ten years [emphasis mine].

Just for fun, here’s more Reich on the economy.

Add the conservative War on Women – which is apparently now on the back burner, along with the rest of the culture wars, since it created such a backlash for the GOP – and there’s no contest this fall.

And if you’re voting for the rich white man because Obama’s “not like me/us,” well … I can read between the lines, even if you can’t, but there is something important you should know:

“Minority” babies outnumber white ones now.

Yep. People like me are gonna be the minority soon.

Personally, I can’t wait.

C’mon along and join us.

Alone Again.

I adore it when friends visit from out of town. It gives the excuse to explore, drink, carouse, eat, party, and enjoy all types of mayhem, hijinks, and shenanigans.

What a house guest doesn’t allow for is a whole lot of writing, posting, or other computer-related activities. Not a complaint, just a simple fact.

I’m glad I took the time off because my friends? THEY ROCK.

Naturally.
